About Daily Smoking Grill
We think a smoker is one of the best money-saving tools a household can own. This site exists to prove it, one recipe, one receipt and one honest grill recommendation at a time.
Why we started
Barbecue has a reputation for being an expensive hobby: thousand-dollar pits, pricey gadgets, forty-dollar-a-pound restaurant brisket. But the heart of smoking is the opposite. It's a way to turn the cheapest, toughest cuts in the store into the best food you'll eat all week.
Daily Smoking Grill is built around that idea. We write for backyard cooks who want great food and a smaller food bill: people who'd rather smoke a pork butt on Sunday and eat well until Thursday than buy lunch every day.
What you'll find here
- Recipes with receipts. Every recipe shows the pit temperature, the finish temperature and what it costs per serving, with the prices and date we used.
- Grill and smoker picks. Recommendations for every budget, ranked on how well they smoke, how long they last and how much they cost to run.
- Plain-English guides. Fire management, wood, temperatures, the stall and food safety, explained without the jargon.
- Free tools. A smoking time calculator and a savings calculator that show what your own habits could save.

Our editorial standards
How we decide what to publish and recommend.
Honest numbers
Every price and saving on this site comes from a named source with a date: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics averages, manufacturer pages or large retailers. When prices change, we update the page and the date.
Independent picks
No brand can pay to be ranked or reviewed. We weigh specifications, warranty terms, price, independent reviews and long-term owner feedback, and we explain our reasoning, including each grill's downsides.
Recipes you can follow
We give temperatures, times and what to look and feel for, because smokers differ and times are only estimates. Where a technique has trade-offs, like foil versus butcher paper, we say so.
Safety first
Our cooking temperatures follow USDA guidance, and we flag when a popular method needs extra care. Outdoor cookers belong outdoors, away from buildings, with a working fire extinguisher nearby.
How this site makes money
Daily Smoking Grill is free to read. Some links to retailers may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence which grills we recommend or how we rank them. We may also show clearly labeled advertising in the future. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections and feedback
If you spot a mistake, a price that has changed or a recipe step that isn't clear, please tell us. We review every correction and update the page with a new date when we change something.
